probably a lost art
i know it ain't popular
have dabbled in self examination
truthfulness with self can be
very difficult in our time
our training and conditioning and prejudices
make truth a threat to our feeling secure
and in control
self examination might reveal
the lies we tell our self
and our fears and insecurities
mostly we seek to escape truth and reality
has been my experience
we make up stories to believe in
religious stories
patriotic stories
family stories
personal stories to believe in
and live in this little containment field
of our own creation
