some gifts can not be taken

they can only be given

and perhaps accepted


and sometimes rejected

as we all have seen

i have a few times wondered

if i was add a quit

to the task at hand


that remains to be seen

the conflict in the world

comes from us

security

those that seek personal security

and privacy

are creating a personal prison

for their self

divided

divided over where we go
what we do and what we show

seems to me  -  not that i'm old
it makes no sense what i've been told

the truth inside must first be found
or life is one big run around

if you don't be just who you are
you'll wind up wishing on some star

and wishing always leads to sorrow
always living for tomorrow

but what about your life today
just dreaming lets it slip away

the here and now is what we are
truth can never be that far

let the whole of now be lived
so nothing has to be re-lived

as the pages pass

as the pages pass before me
ages  -  ages  -  all were born free

in their time to pass away
as night must yield to each new day

so worry not what lies ahead
for in the end when all is said

life will serve us all just right
there is no way to lose the light

when you wonder what is true
the answers all lie inside you

just cease the endless mental chatter
which makes us crazy as a hatter

be still to hear the endless force
that holds the world on its true course

and you will find out what you are
the wind and rain and brightest star

much time has passed

much time has passed since i was young
not much has really changed

the game goes on and i'm still here
not changed  -  but re-arranged

my heart still cries  -  i love it so
and spring still brings me joy

yes i'm alive and i don't mind
inside i'm still a boy

much time has passed yet i still play
in this land of terror

no more to hang my head and cry
i don't regret the error

mistakes were made  -  i bless them so
for through them i did learn

if you're going to play the game
you better learn to burn

what this planet requires

to continue doing what its doing


and look at what we humans have been doing

hopes and wishes and dreams

escapism in all its gory glory

all life

the only concept of god i can formulate

is all life


to respect god

i must respect all life


and be true to my self

which is life


all life is the birds and the bees

and the flowers and the trees

and you and me

beliefs

the greatest source of conflict in our world

believers

the people that think they know

thinkers

the least aware people on the planet

religious afflictions

religious afflictions

seem to be

the most popular afflictions

of our time


and i might say to that

why do you choose an affliction

for your guiding light


i have very little interest

in what people believe

my personal interest

is in what we know

not what we think we know

assets

life has its assets

and deficiencies

and is a blending

of its self

telling

if you're looking for someone else

to tell you what to do

you're lost


if you're telling yourself what to do

you're lost


being is not the same as seeking

god

what that word means to me

is all that is

and all that has ever been

and all that will ever be

and you and me

so help me god

advice

the best advice for when

you don't know what to do

is be your self

truth

in our own time

we all have to face

our own truth

as we can

as we are

wishing

my only advice to that situation is

never make a wish you can't face

or aren't willing to


and my personal favorite choice

in those situations

is just be your self as you can

and is your nature

a truthful presentation

the only security i am aware of

on this plane

or any other plane i am aware of

privacy

the desire for security

is an escape tactic

and of no value to all

cause there ain't no escape

from life

in all those silly commercials
