to judge another

those that feel qualified to pass judgement on an other

are going to have to explain their qualifications to me


and i will have to understand what they say

in a way i am capable of understanding

without just submitting to their fancy words


the preachers claim to be able to

as do the lawyers

and those that call themselves scientists

and believers

and christians

and jews

and good little capitalists

and good americans

and a whole lot of other stuff


i hear what i hear

and i see what i see

and what people want me to be

has got nothing to do with what i am


we all have to find our own way

and no one can teach me who i am


only life can provide that opportunity

and i have to we willing to learn for myself
