the gift

so rarely recognized

in our time

by so many

of us humans


it seems to me

so few even wonder

any more


life for so many

is not the gift

it once was


humans have become

the main problem

life has on this particular

plane of existence


the creatures of the field

have mostly just survived as they can

as have some humans
